Has anyone gotten into TCC RN program with a C in both API & II, but A's in all other classes?

I am currently going into my second year of the nursing program at TCC. To be honest, I don't know anyone in the nursing program who has two C's in their science classes. That doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but I have never encountered this since I've been in the nursing program. I know one person who had a C in one of her science classes, but she had A's in all of her other classes, had every single one of her other prereqs finished, and she did well on all sections of the TEAS test. I've also met a few who have two B's. I'm not trying to be discouraging, just honest. I think it is possible to get in with one C and all A's in your other science classes or two B's and A's in your other science classes as long as you perform really well on the science part of your TEAS test. I think it is very unlikely to get into the program with two C's in your science classes because they weigh them heavily. I would try to retake at least one of the classes and try to get an A in it. Good luck to you. Don't get discouraged. You can do it!!:specs:

Thanks for being honest. I'm not discourage - kind of expected that answer, but had to ask anyway. I am planning to retake AP2 (found it way more interesting than AP1) early next year. It is more comforting to know there are people accepted who have made a B here and there. There are so many people who say you need an A in everything or theres no shot of getting in.

It would be a very small program if they only let in those who made nothing but A's. Yes, those people are chosen first, but it isn't realistic to expect every single person to make A's. The science classes are hard. There are too many rumors going around about people having to have 4.0 gpas to get in. That is just not true. If you have already finished your classes, then you should go ahead and apply. That will give you a definite answer. I wouldn't rely on what anyone else says, including me. Just because I haven't met anyone who has gotten in with two C's doesn't mean it hasn't happened. I was talking to a friend of mine this morning who is in the nursing program with me. I mentioned your post and asked her if she knew anyone who had been admitted with two C's in her science classes. She doesn't know anyone admitted with two C's, but she did tell me that she had one C in A&P I, and she was admitted. She also said that she knows someone who was admitted with a 3.2 gpa. She said the person did exceptionally well on her TEAS test. In light of this, I think you should go ahead and take the TEAS test, try to do well on it, and apply to the program. You may not get in, but the worst they can say is "no." Meanwhile, you can retake one of your A&P classes. I wish you lots of luck!
