I've been on this site before when I got my interview but I didn't find anyone from Memphis,I was wondering about the books for class but I read the previous comments about the books being different this term.The question I have for you ladies is do you know if books fees automatically come out of our Fafsa I was wondering cause I have a coworker who just graduated from Covington and she said she'll give me the books for free but if they come out there no need for me to get them.

In reading the previous posts you will find that there will definitely be a new set of books. They will be in a bundle as miss looney stated. Fafsa wont be enough to pay for books. You will need to go through another program such as WIN...tn career center where you will receive a voucher for uniforms and books if you qualify. The reference for qualifications, I listed in a previous posts. The cost of the box I also listed in a previous post.

I went to orientation yesterday for WIA funding at career center. Qualifications:

-can't make more than $15hr or $31,200 annually

That was my main concern! Lol!

Orientation is every Tuesday and Thursday at the Tenn. Career Center on Walnut Grove from 9:30-10:15am

I had talked with my case worker and she just referred me to them. I have a appointment monday. I really hope they can help me with my books. what all did you have to bring @ kheathrn?

I just had orientation. My appointment is on June 1st to meet with the coordinator again. She said I have to bring my resume and my letter. Then she's going to give me a date to take the TABE test.

What is the tabe test for?

@wre-williams it's a test they use to deteime how much money you will receive for school. It has basic math and reading on there.

hi ladies, I went through that entire process and did not use the money at the time. Found out it was only valid for a year, that's why I have to do the process all over. it was a good experience for me. If they have not changed, first you will take the tabe test. It is something like the compass test. The tabe test is easier though. They give you a gift card, if I'm not mistaken it was for walmart. Then after that you may take the workeys test which will then qualify you to receive the Career Readiness Certificate (CRC). They will then give you a voucher to pay for books, uniforms, and miscellaneous items you may need for class.
