Hello! I haven't found a thread yet for anyone applying to this program. Any others out there? ?

That being said, it is still being implemented, thus some quizzes and tests get really specific which is kinda strange for a concept based program. Even our concept course gets really nitty gritty at times. Most of the professors are also pursing their own further nursing education, which also creates some chaos. They used to tell us a lot to “be flexible” and they really mean it.
This program heavily relies on self teaching (reading books, looking at outside information, watching videos, reviewing hw questions, etc). This is probably the number one complaint from my classmates is that we have to teach ourselves nearly everything. Another complaint is that we do take an our class ever semester, sometimes you do fun things like drawing a skeleton and other times you are making a color wheel. Some see the benefit to nursing while others don’t. Generally its a stress relieving course (though you do have to write journals ? for it). Lastly, there is a grad course and it is a lot of writing at the graduate level (though you are pursing a BSN). However, it does give you certain credits if you plan to further your education in nursing.
Overall, you will find BS with every nursing program as my mentor has told me (you get assigned one halfway through the year). I think if you do the hw and actually try to learn (teach yourself/ don't try to complete everything in lightning speed) you will do well and learn something. This is especially important for the NCLEX. We had a fairly younger cohort and the levels of maturity differed substantially. Given that ABSN programs are very difficult to come by and get in, putting up with some issues for 15 months to further your career goals is worth it. Like I mentioned before, this program has growing pains and the cohort before us told us the same thing I am telling you now. I am almost 100% sure they will change something about how they teach grad or do art in your cohort.
It’s been a unique experience and I would probably repeat it again if I had to. You really get to know your cohort well, a little too well. Y’all will like and hate eachother, especially with group work.
Thank you for sharing all of this information! I was curious about what the majority of the students in the program do for housing? Do most live on or off campus? Do they live together? I am trying to get an idea of what I want to do for housing!
