Hi, all! Just wanted to start a page for applicants for the ABSN program at TAMUCC for Summer 2020!

I hear you! My interview was December 15th. Did you interview that week as well? It's been a long and "patient" wait ... Not much longer. I thought of applying for other programs as well (as a back up plan), until I was told that I could only apply to one. Outside CC was not an option.

I was looking at the Nursing website yesterday. They had posted a picture of the current students practicing calling in Rx to the Pharmacy. They are so close to completion! How exciting! With the program being so new, I wonder (with ongoing program evaluation),what is working, what is changing and if we will have the opportunity to speak with the current students at orientation.?

Yes I also interviewed on the 16th so the wait has felt SO long! I’m glad we’re getting close to hearing back. This was the only program I applied to as well. I wish they released more information on what criteria they took last year (like they do with the traditional track). But I guess we’ll find out soon enough! I wonder how many people applied... I think last year it was around 120.

The closing date for application to the ABSN is Feb 2. You may want to contact CAS to see what stage your app is in. It takes a couple of weeks to verify before they submit the completed app to the university. They will be able to let you know if you will make the cut-off in time.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. My app was verified a week or two ago because I applied to a few schools already. I also got my student ID from TAMUCC but no “IslandID”. I’m thinking if I do get an invite it’ll be in the next week or two. If not by the end of next week I’ll call the school, cause I know my app is submitted and verified via CAS.

Also, I can’t remember cause I applied to literally 10 schools ??‍♀️?, do they require the TEAS? I’m taking it the 10th and don’t know if they require it/if they do maybe they’re waiting for the score? ??‍♀️

Sorry, so many questions lmao. But my apply Texas says “Application Forwarded to Receiving Institution” on January 22nd. There’s nothing else for me to do but wait right? I’m just getting nervous I missed something lol

i’m pretty sure i’m in the same boat as you! pretty positive my nursing cas app has already been verified and i have already been accepted into the university and haven’t heard about interview yet so i’m just patiently waiting! i’ve been checking my email constantly lol

Not at all! We are all in this together! Typically, once received by the University- they will calculate your pre-requisites and GPA in their own way. Once that is complete, they will send an email requesting an interview.
