Hi all , I was hoping u could help me out. I'm coming to tampa airport on mon. and was hoping for some helpful shortcuts. First off, how hard is it to get to your airport????? I am told it is hell:angryfire :angryfire . Our airport here in ft. myers fl. is very doable, so I'm concerned. Secondly how far is the beach, the aquarium, and busch gardens from the airport? Also is the airport just off the interstate. How hard is it to find a parking spot at your beach, ours here in the ft myers area is impossible after 800am. Just anything you can tell me would be most helpful. My family and I would like to spend the night if possible, so I'm trying to figure this out. Any help will be most appreciated.

Tampa International Airport (TIA) is actually very easy to get around. Once you're off the plane you just follow the exit signs or follow the crowd as there is only one way to get from the airside to the terminal, which is via the very short troley. If you have checked baggages, you'll take the escalator down to the 1st floor at baggage claim and follow the signs to your airline flight #. I suggest that you look at TIA's website at: http://www.tampaairport.com/index.asp for more info.

The beaches are about 30 miles from Tampa. If you're driving, you can take the Howard Frankland bridge to St. Pete beach, Treasure Island Beach or Madiera Beach. If you want to go to Clearwater beach, you'll need to take the Courtney Campbelll Causway via the Veteran's Expressway to Memorial Highway out of TIA.

The aquarium is opposite directions from the beaches. It's downtown Tampa near Chanelside. Whereas Busch Gardens is north of the airport. You'll need to drive onto I-275N and Exit Busch Blvd.

There are plenty of hotels and motels available, both on the beaches and in Tampa. Good luck to you. Hope you enjoy the area.

thanx twinkletoes, I did find the aquarium and my kids and I loved it, especially the water area outside. I couldn't find much else that I wanted. I was very nervous driving around an unfamiliar area:uhoh21: :uhoh21: :uhoh21: . Let me ask u, r u familiar with st. petersburg area. I loved that area. The water or beach area was gorgeous. I was only on that 5-15 mile bridge and it was absolutely gorgeous.

Hello There Again!

I'm glad you and your kids enjoyed the Aquarium. It's always nerve wracking whenever you're in an unfamiliar area. I lived in St. Pete 5 years ago for quite some time --so I'm pretty familiar with the area. Although it has changed quite a bit over the years. I personally like Treasure Island Beach over St. Pete Beach myself and Sand Key State Park. There's also Fort Dosoto Park that is nice too. Let me know what you're looking for and I'll try to answer your questions :p
