Tampa Bay/Sarasota ADN/ABSN Programs

Published

Many of the local for-profit schools such as Keiser, Everest, and Rasmussen are great at guarding information without scheduling an appointment to meet with an advisor or attend an information session.

Could anyone provide insight on whether either of these three programs require an entrance exam for students with an undergraduate degree in a different field and acceptable grades in all of the prerequisite/science coursework? Are there any other for-profit programs that I'm missing beyond the major universities (UT, USF, PHSC, HCC)?

At this point, Utica College's ABSN program seems to be ideal, though the investment required is quite significant. I do not require financial aid and have been fortunate enough to not have student debt, though $55K is going to be a lot to shell out. I'm open to doing an ASN-RN program and complete my BSN online.

55k for an ABSN? NO FREAKING WAY. No way would I ever dish out that amount of money for a BSN. Unbelievable to me that these schools charge that kind of money. I thought 20k was asking a lot for my ABSN. You said that you won't need financial aid, which is very nice...still, I wouldn't pay that when you can go to a state school for way less. What ever you decide, ensure the school is fully accredited so that if you decide to go back later, your credits/degree will transfer.
