Taking TEAS this Friday. Should I memorize ALL the shapes, (prism etc) and conversions (quart, gallon etc)

Published

Hello All! I have been studying very hard for the TEAS for around 2 months. I am very comfortable with the basics shapes such as circle , triangle, and square. All of my preparation material has the formulas for pretty much every shape under the sun?. I have no problem memorizing it if I need to, but I feel like my time could be better spent with other topics. Does anyone have any advice? What about all of the other conversions that do not include meter, yard, gram, etc? Like quarts and cups and such? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I cannot speak for every version of the test, but I can say I also encountered all of these things on practice tests. I memorized all of it, and got no questions where I needed any formulas or conversion factors that were not given in the question itself on the real test. So many people said to know this stuff though, I’m hesitant to say not to worry about it because it must be on some version.

FWIW, I got 100% on the math and my best advice to anyone asking about the math section, do the math practice test at brandoncraftmath.com. It’s harder than the real test and takes a lot longer, but he built the test off the teas guidebook. He also made a video for each problem explaining it if you need that. AND, he responds to questions and comments you leave on the video in a very timely manner.

If you can complete his test, know how to do everything on it, (even if you can’t finish it in the time limit the real teas gives) then you are good to go.

Thank you so much! I bought the Brandon Craft stuff a few months back. I completely agree that it is a wonderful resource.
