taking Nclex tomorrow morning

Published

I am taking NCLEX tomorrow 8/1. I was just hoping to get some encouragement. I have always done well on tests in school and never had test anxiety, however, I feel like i might get a little anxious tomorrow. Any tips on staying calm and focusing?

Also, how do you feel about HESI as compared to NCLEX? I scored a 1084 on the hesi in april....when my instructor saw my score she smiled and said..."oh you are going to pass" But I still just feel very nervous.

I am not a nervous tester either, but my stomach was in knots for the first time in a VERY long time the night before (this past Sunday) and when I went down to test. My advice, try and get some sleep, and get there early, don't let anyone rush you once you get to the testing site. I live in NYC, so I was sure there was going to be a starbucks around, so I went early and sat and had a coffee and talked to my sister on the phone. It helped a lot. For me, the test was much less difficult than most of the review questions I did or all of the hype that I heard!

my friend who scored a 1032 on Hesi just got her results a couple of weeks ago and she passed. her test shut down after 85 questions like mine did and like me she walked out feeling like failure. i of course knew she'd pass. your hesi score is awesome. you shouldn't have any surprises. so much luck to you!!!!

So tell us, how did you feel after taking the NCLEX??

Sabby, I felt better after I came out of the multi-state bar exam than i did after this nclex. A lot of the meds were things i hadn't heard of before, and i had a lot of "select all that apply." i took it on friday and won't find out i guess til tuesday. i just don't feel good about it.

I don't think I have spoken to one person that came out of the NCLEX feeling they had 'aced' the exam.

Hold on to the fact you did the best and could well be pleasantly surprised.

Sucks when they toss drugs at you that you had never heard.

I got that on my Hospice Certification. Now with that exam I would rather do the NCLEX all over again :lol2:

I just took my test yesterday morning, i live in miami and still dont have the results. tried the so called pearson vue trick and didn't let me re-register so i guess that gives me some hope. Th exam stopped at 75 questions and i felt like my heart had stopped when that happened,i was so disappointed at myself...now i just have to hope and wait

Good luck. Hope the OP passed and became a nurse.
