any other questions/areas i need to brush up on? specifically, did you have a lot of l& d questions, pharm questions, etc? what should i focus on more so than other areas? i know culture and nutrition seem to be big, but anything else?

it's very hard to know what to study for when it comes to the boards. know your labs (norms), it's hard to say what meds to know cause they will throw meds on there that you have never heard of. what i did was when i watched t.v. and seen a med a would write it down and then look it up in my med book and write down everything i thought was important. i didn't get any meds on my test that was on t.v. but i have had friends that have. so ya might want to do that also. know your scope and just remember abc's, maslows. i would freshen up on dm. thats very popular and i'm sure you will get at least one questions on that. i would refresh on l&d but don't spend all your time on that.

It is such a highly individualized examination that there is really no way that any one person can tell you what to focus on. You could be sitting right next to another person taking NCLEX-PN and they may get totally different questions than you. I agree with the other poster; know lab values, ABCs, and think critically. Best of luck to you. I did not get one question on the more common things such as Diabetes, Asthma, one cheap shot question on pediatrics, mine was mostly neuro and digestive. About 9-10 medications (I did happen to know most of them), and about 8-9 'select alls'. That was in 2006, though.

Be calm when you go in, make sure you get plenty of rest the night before and remember, you have 5 hours. Good luck to you, and go fight, tiger!
