Taking CCRN in 2 weeks- advice PLEASE

Greetings,
I will be taking my ccrn in 2 weeks and i need some advice. I am studying doing 150 test questions a night from the Pass CCRN book also using Laura G. DVD, her Hemodynamics DVD, and critical care book of questions along with the AACN CCRN question book.
I am getting in the upper 90's on the exams.
So with that being said my question is how does this scoring campare to the test itself
I am little worried because I want to pass this test badly.

To be honest, with scores like those I would consider rescheduling the exam if possible. 90/150=60% which is not even close to passing. I always suggest to those studying for the CCRN to be scores consistently in the 80's% (minimum of 120/150 questions) on the practice exams so that they have a little cushion before sitting the exam. Using this strategy has helped me pass the CCRN, CMC, and CEN exams.

I am also scheduled to take the test in two weeks. This will be my third and final attempt as I believe yours will be your succesful one:). You CAN pass this exam. for the next week just concentrate on CARDIO, PULMONARY AND NEURO. these are the bulk of the exam and my were killers. I scored 87 and 88 consecutively in my last two attempts. Before the first attempt,at some point I was scoroing 110-120s on the pass CCRN CD...yet!! Now I got the AACN book/CD and though I have scored 90s and over, my confidence and knowledge has improved because I realized silly mistakes I made in my exams. With these practice scores, I will still go ahead and take my test and will keep you posted. Remember ONLY 125 questions are scored and the pass score is 89 correct questions. There was someone who was scoring 67% on the practice test and still passed. focus on those three systems after you get a handle on the other areas and you are good to go. For the remaining days, I plan to just answer the PASS CCRN CD( STUDY mode ) questions and AACNCertification CD (study mode) on those three systems. You also have an edge since you have the Laura G. DVD :)

...and I PASSED!!!. I took the xam on monday morning and never been so nervous in my life after an exam ( while I was waiting for the result printout) The spent the remaining 3days just reving the pass CCRN CD and only working on Cardio nand Pulomonary study mode ( 10 questions each time). It paid off. I scored 80% and 73% on each respectively. Though I hugely droped points of Neuro and Behavioral but I made it!!!! Go for it ! :yeah:

Congrats on passing!! I too just passed and was sooo nervous to receive my printout results!! :w00t: I had actually did better than I anticipated! I found it helpful focusing on cardio and pulmonary since that is such a big part of the test. Review questions are good but I think going over disease processes, symptoms and treatments helped me more. For example: knowing MI complications, pulmonary edema, PA and wedge pressure norms and what the high/low pressure readings mean. Know clinical symptoms and lab expectations of things such as DKA, SIADH, DI and how to treat them. I think reviewing things like that prepared me more than just answering pools of questions. Do you have to have a certain amount of time spent as critical care nurse before taking CCRN?

I can't remember off the top of my head how many "recent" hours you need in Critical Care before you can take the exam, but the requirements are posted on the AACN website.
