  1. So I took the exam this past monday.....and I PASSED!!!!!!!! I almost collapsed waiting for the result printout becuase the lady said the machine was "warming up".
  2. ...and I PASSED!!!. I took the xam on monday morning and never been so nervous in my life after an exam ( while I was waiting for the result printout) The spent the remaining 3days just reving the pass CCRN CD and only working on Cardio nand Pulomonary study mode ( 10 questions each time). It paid off. I scored 80% and 73% on each respectively. Though I hugely droped points of Neuro and Behavioral but I made it!!!! Go for it !

...and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!. I concentrated so much on Cardio and Pulonary ( where I scored 80% and 73% respectively) that I dropped low on Neuro and Behavioral sections. ..but I made it. having done this exam I really admire people who have the certification because it sure was not easy. :)

hi you are right it is NOT as daunting as some people make it out to be. I have taken it twice now; once after the middle of march 2011 and then exactly two weeks later( 1st week in april). The first time I scored 87!! and made the mistake of taking it too soon again ( I scored 88)without proper review of Cardio and Pulmo ( I scored EXACTLY 52% and 68% respectively on both sections the first and second time...very weird and a whole lot of question to get wrong :) The pass score is 89 out of 125 questions( 25 questions are not scored) so now I know where to focus my study and the next time will be the last!!. You CAN do it...i do not even work in an ICU setting
  6. Hi I also work in a stepdown/telemetry unit at my facility. We were encouraged to take the progressive care certication for almost two years now and no one has even attempted..I guess maybe because not much is heard about it? Anyway once I determined that I have the hours needed for CCRN I decided to go for that instead even though I have never worked in an ICU. It is doable and I am going for it. The certification is worth it but it is something you need to embark on when you are ready witghin yourself so that you can have the self motivation to study for it.
  7. I am also scheduled to take the test in two weeks. This will be my third and final attempt as I believe yours will be your succesful one:). You CAN pass this exam. for the next week just concentrate on CARDIO, PULMONARY AND NEURO. these are the bulk of the exam and my were killers. I scored 87 and 88 consecutively in my last two attempts. Before the first attempt,at some point I was scoroing 110-120s on the pass CCRN CD...yet!! Now I got the AACN book/CD and though I have scored 90s and over, my confidence and knowledge has improved because I realized silly mistakes I made in my exams. With these practice scores, I will still go ahead and take my test and will keep you posted. Remember ONLY 125 questions are scored and the pass score is 89 correct questions. There was someone who was scoring 67% on the practice test and still passed. focus on those three systems after you get a handle on the other areas and you are good to go. For the remaining days, I plan to just answer the PASS CCRN CD( STUDY mode ) questions and AACNCertification CD (study mode) on those three systems. You also have an edge since you have the Laura G. DVD :) Wish you the best!!:)
  8. Those materials are enough to pass. I took the exam middle of march 2011 and scored 87!!!!! The exam site in whiteplains was so noisy and uncondusive for me that I left the site with 1hr and 16minutes remaining to test. I figured just 2 more points to pass so I came home and rescheduled via phone same day;I knew questions i could have changed their answers to pass had I reviewed my questions but I could not concentrate during the test. I took it again first week in april without doing the prudent thing a good student would do like focusing on Cardio and Pulmonary as my score report revealed. This time I scored 88!!!!!! (just 1 point to go)...again the culprits were cardio and pulmo. I thought I may be given the same type of questions I got the first time( I got confusing ones the second time). The testing center in astoria queens was nice though. needless to say I appreciate these experiences because they have made me take more time to go indepth in what I am doing wrong. I DO NOT work in an ICU but an acute care setting/telemetry/stepdown unit so I am proud of my efforts. I have to use my imagination to figure out some of the hemodynamic monitoring scenarios being presented..and I have gained a lot of knowledge in the process. I am testing again first week in may and will give an update on the outcome ....THIS IS IT! :)
