Hi,
Has anyone had to take a semester off from nursing school, why and how did you feel returning the next semester. Did you have problems with keeping up.
The nursing class 1020 (2nd level) is full all three classes are, so if someone doesn't drop out or a space doesn't become available before September. I'm essentially going to have to wait till January to register into 1020. I will be one semester behind my class and this means I graduate one semester later too.
So I've come up with a plan in case the inevitable happens, I have core classes left (4) so I can register for all 4 for fall semester. Since I have to take them anyways to graduate. Then I won't have anything but the last 3 nursing courses to take alone.
I just want to know if anyone has been through a similar experience or have taken a break in between nursing school.
Thanks :)

I was forced to take a break due to a physical injury that I had to recuperate from. Because of the situation, I had to actually withdraw from the school citing medical reasons to avoid the consequences of dropping the courses at that specific late date. I never recovered from that situation when it was thrown up to me in a threatening phone call from the newly appointed dean how she was going to see that I would fail to graduate. She treated me like I had murdered her mother when it was more than one doctor that said I could not tolerate attending school until I healed. Just another example encountered throughout life, showing that you should never, ever, ever, give others any ammunition that they can use against you. When you think everything is fine, you could have an enemy literally lurking over the edge of the bunker.
The long and short of this story: do not take a break from school if you can possibly avoid it.

@caliotter3 I'm sorry to hear about what happened with your experience, are you looking into applying into a nursing program or are you still unable to attend due to the physical limitation?
Ohh and I'm not taking a break from school, the next nursing course that I have to take is full as in the class is filled to capacity so theres no room to register. So If I can't get in I will still be attending school in the fall, just not taking a nursing course, you understand? I was just wondering what other people's experiences with having to take a semester off from the nursing classes per say.

just be careful with planning it, what if the other courses your planning to take all together in the next semester are full too? making you wait longer
@zibi I am, I spoke to the nursing director and what would be one of my instructors if I took the 2nd nursing class today and she said that she couldn't make any promises but to pay off the balance and check back with her weekly and she will see what she can do about finding me a spot.
I check the portal every week they aren't full yet, still plenty of spaces. These seem to be the less popular classes that everyone takes last minute, but thank you for the advice. :)
