hello there. I have question especially for Filipino nurses. If I wan to go back to the Philippines to finish my nursing, do I have to take the exam(board) there before I come back to US or can I just go back to US and just take the NCLEX?

For me, I think it will be better if you will take the local board exam because most states now in the USA require it before releasing your eligibility.

Are you actually a green card holder or a US citizen?
If you hold a US passport, you are unable to write the NLE even if you wanted to.
I would take the time to do some reading on this forum about what is happening with many of the schools over there right now. If you can go to school in the US, that should be your number one choice. Also be aware that there is an additional year that is being added back into the programs in PI, so things will be longer.
And you mentioned to complete your training, are you already in a program in the US? If so, be aware that most of your hours will not transfer and you will be starting over from the beginning, same as you would if you transferred to another program in the US.
Also be aware that there have been issues with the clinical training being done at quite a few schools where there are many more students than patients, so your skill level may not be up to what it should be when you return to the US. We are now seeing employers asking for two years of work experience for graduates of programs there before they will hire them, also depends on where in the US that you live.
Unfortunately, not all training is created equally.
