Taiwan Nursing

Published

Hello, currently I'm seeking to get into the nursing profession. I've currently seeking options for training in Taiwan. Currently my state of residence is that of a American, but I wish to study overseas. Does anyone know if a foreigner can attend a nursing school in Taiwan, furthermore, if one was to study abroad, but maybe specifically to TW, getting your RC would that allow you to practice in US?

Thank you.

Depends on your state and education abroad. Tons of nurses from the Philippines can no longer directly apply over through the board of nursing in california anymore.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Do you speak the local language? If not, you are risking struggle taking a challenging course in a language that you are not fluent in.

It's always recommended to study nursing in the country where you intend to live and work. US educated nurses are trained to US standards and prepared for the NCLEX. English speaking candidates who trained overseas have a less than 35% pass rate when taking the NCLEX first attempt and the odds of passing are reduced with each subsequent attempt.

There will be many barriers trying to get licensed and employed as an IEN. Many saturated areas are difficult for any new nurse to get a job but those educated locally (often made an impression on local clinical facilities and gained references from clinical sites) have a definitive advantage.
