What is going on with the TCC nursing program? I applied for the 2 spring options, then a couple days later the nursing home page had this message:
TCC is not accepting applications for the Nursing Program at this time as we make updates.
In order to maintain our highest possible standards, TCC is going through a comprehensive program review. The admission process and timelines will be available on our website Spring 2014.
Check back frequently for additional information.
Thank you for your patience.
I've heard they're struggling with students passing the NCLEX and that some instructors quit? Anyone know what's up? Looks like at best it will be Fall 14 before they start taking new applications...... so bummed!

UGH! This is bad news. I haven't applied yet (still doing some pre-reqs), but they were the only ADN program I was going to apply to this next year since SPSCC lost their accreditation...

Olympia. There are not "a ton" that are nationally accredited and close by.
Okay there are not a ton of colleges but there is pierce, olympic, and some other ones I can't remember off the top of my head. Highline is a little further north and I'm sure tcc will sort things out
I did forget about Pierce - but Olympic is in Bremerton (60 miles away). Highline is 45 miles from Olympia. Both those schools (Pierce, Highline) are in the direction of heavy traffic too, so would likely involve a hefty commute time. The next closest school with a nationally accredited program is Grays Harbor, which is just over 50 miles away.
Even commuting to TCC was a bit far, so between the shutdown of SPSCC and TCC, there are not many options in this area right now for people wanting to go to a nationally accredited ADN program.
