Hi,

I have just received notice of my acceptance into LPN school with 12.9 across the board.

1)Is the TABE similar in comparision to the NET?

My goal is RN...

Would like to take it now, if so.

2) I am researching RN schools in my area.(helene fuld vs OLO)

How do I know which has the best clinical?

I have looked up NCLEX results for the most current year available. Is the % of passed test results a good indicator of the school?

Trying to get the most for my money is these economic times..

3) Why do net scores vary by school?

Any feedback is appreciated

In my opinion, the TABE was ten times easier than the NET. While they both require basic skills, I felt the TABE was an easier exam.

The NCLEX pass rate is not an accurate indicator of a school's quality. For example, some schools flunk marginal students in the middle of the program so that these people won't have a chance to drop the nursing program's NCLEX pass rate. If a school had a 100 percent NCLEX pass rate, you may want to look deeper. You might find that 60 people started the nursing program, but only 35 finished. The remaining 25 pupils either dropped or were failed.

Therefore, only 35 of the highest caliber students actually took NCLEX when the program actually started with 60 people. If all 35 people pass, the school has a 100 percent NCLEX pass rate to brag about.
