Which are the best Sydney public hospitals to choose from for the graduate nurse program?

I personally find this question impossible to answer... It is like comparing apples, oranges and pineapple. Which taste the best?
But generally speaking, major hospitals such as RPA and St George offers better learning opportunities as they have better facilities and can see more complex cases.

Apply for all Grad programs, this is not the time to be choosey. Worry about where to go for your transition year, more chances to get a position you prefer then.

There is more applicants than positions. Don't be choosy, go for them all!
Well you do have to be choosy as you can only list so many as preferences I think 8 leaning more towards in and around city centre. Any thoughts between rpa and st Vincent's? As I'm not in sydney it makes this processs more difficult,
I would include some outer city hospitals, as more of a chance for a position, like Nepean, are you studying at a NSW university? otherwise slim chance at city hospital.

They are all much of a muchness really. They all have major specialties, however, if trauma is your thing, rpa, st George & westmead are trauma centres. St Vincent's, rpa and pow do transplant, however rpa has a transplant ward. Pow has spinal. They all have large cardiac units.
Rpa has a really well supported grad program in my opinion. There are 3 grad coordinators, regular education sessions etc.

You need to consider what you want from a graduate program and do your research. Is a big hospital with a lot of complex cases, rare diseases or trauma important for you? Find out what hospitals tend to deal with those patients. Do you want to work in theatres, ED, ICU or mental health? Find out which hospitals offer those rotations for new grads. Talk to past and current grads about the graduate program support, study requirements, work place culture etc.
& apart from that, work on your interview skills because that's what will get you the job you preference first.
Also look into non-NSW Health options (private hospital providers such as Ramsay and Healthscope offer a number of graduate programs, as well as numerous aged care providers) in case you miss out on a NSW Health position, which is happening to more and more nursing grads.
