SWTCC Fall 2014 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hi all!

Just wondering if there are any hopeful candidates out there for the Southwest Tennessee Community College Nursing Program for Fall 2014?

If so, do you mind sharing your ranking index score with me? Or your NLN? I scored a 132 on the NLN and wanted to retake it to try for a higher score, but was told that my score was "high" for SWTCC so I settled for it. After reading some of the posts on here, though, I now feel as though my score is mediocre, at best.

I am excited to meet you guys!

Yes! I got in! Congrats everyone!

Congrats to you, too!

Congrats to all now what were you'll index scores so I know what to be looking for : )

I got my acceptance letter today!!!!!

So to those of you who received acceptance offers from southwest and other schools (Baptist, etc) how many of you are going to go with southwest?

Congrats to those that got in! I am so excited for you. I am taking my pre-reqs and will apply for Spring 2015.

@bex2001 let us know if they will be accepting more students & if you'll are going to be in the new building

lol how would I know if they are going to be accepting more students? Anyone can look at the classes for fall 2014. As of this morning it still only had 60 openings for Foundations class so I guess that is all they are taking this semester? Hopefully for spring they will be better equipped and prepared for 120 and hopefully you won't have to wait as long to hear from the nursing dept as we did! I think we are in the new building. . . .maybe. Wherever Walnut Street is that is where we have to go for our nursing packets. Right now I am not very suited for answering your questions, but anything I find out I will be more than happy to share!

I'm going to Southwest. I only applied to Baptist as an alternate nursing school choice as I never want to put my eggs in one basket. I had already paid to take NLN. I'm unemployed so I couldn't afford to pay to take another entrance test at the time. Baptist, as of recently did away with their entrance exam, so I applied there. I learned about how their admissions process has changed and I was like, "Please let me get into SW." At Southwest I would be admitted directly into the actually program and that's not the case at Baptist. My index score is 62 or 63, if you round up.

I do know a girl that was accepted at SW as well; however, she is not going to accept SW's offer. She is opting to accept Baptist's offer instead. That's at least one spot for the wait list, if SW has one.
