When I graduated as an LVn 1 year ago the first job I was offered was pediatric home health and I took it. However it was always my desire to work in LTC. Do you think my experience in HH would help to get a LTC job or would I be just lumped in the same lot as new grads.

You have experience...on your resume' try to write it in such a way as to make the home care experience relevant to the LTC setting. You must have wonderful time management skills, right? Excellent documentation skills...customer service skills? What you learned as a home health nurse should give you an advantage over new grads.
