I am currently attending a community college and this is my 5th semester. I have a few more to go to complete my prerequisites but it's taking forever! Would it be better to try a school like National University? I like the idea of one and two month courses. It has taken me so long because I started at lower level class due to not having attended high school. I am in my 30's and have children and feel urged to complete my courses faster. Anyone been in the same position and what did you decide on doing?

I attend National's BSN program and it's great, I'm learning so much! I really like the school and the course format as well. If you can afford it, I say go for it! I personally couldn't afford to do all of my pre-reqs there, a couple of them I had to take at National, but I transferred from a CC last year. I'm in my 20's and sometimes feel like I need to hurry up, so I understand you wanting to get a move on.
There are a couple of people in my cohort who took all their pre-reqs at National. I haven't heard them complain and I'm quite sure they finished a lot faster than I did, it took me 3 years! One started straight out of high school; they're only 21 now and is the youngest in our class!
Thank you for the reply babeinboots! Glad to hear your experience is a good one at NU. I set up a meeting for next week and send them my unofficial transcripts so they can take a look. Hopefully I am a good candidate. I don't mind taking out loans on something as important as my education. And wow 21 that is young but good for her. Are you in San Diego? If so do you mind me asking what hospitals your clinical are set up at?
No sorry, I'm at the Los Angeles campus. I'm still early in my program, but we're at Kaiser and St. Joseph's for now.
