I'm thinking that the hospital wouldn't be so dumb as to blatantly disregard staffing rules. You'd be surprised looking at the state regulations just how lax they might be.
I can't speak to Oklahoma requirements since I don't live there, maybe somebody from your state will answer? I can tell you that in WI as long as certain conditions are met the only requirement is that an RN be available on-call

Unfortunately they disregard several guidelines. I decided the risk just wasn't worth it. Thank you for your reply.

Hi there! I'm an LPN in Okla. I work at a rural hospital, med/surg unit. I'm being asked to work alone on the unit with only a care tech with me. It is my understanding that an RN must be ON the unit as well. Am I wrong?
Please advise.
