Do you have your toolbar showing up top?
1. go to View: Toolbars: Customize
2. Click COMMANDS
3. under CATEGORIES, click FORMAT
4. On the right-side menu (COMMANDS), scroll down until you find
superscript
5. Click on superscript until it is highlighted
6. Using your mouse, drag the superscript bar up to your toolbar and then release the mouse button
So now everytime you want to do superscript you click that button on your toolbar, type in the letter/number you want superscripted and then turn it off again. If your text is already typed, you can highlight the text you want to be in superscript, then press the superscript button in your toolbar and that will do it.
Clear as mud, huh???

I don't know if this is clearer, but this is what I do.
1. highlight the text that you want to make into superscripts
2. Right-click on the highlighted text
3. You'll see a list of options, choose Font...
4. Then under Effects, you'll see superscript and check that box. Click Ok.
Hope that works for you.
