Waiting for the results to come out next week. I was wondering how everyone scored on the TEAS.
Hello, I applied for Fall 24 but didn't get in. I got a 79 on the TEAS.
I have a bachelors and a masters degree already but they didn't process my transcripts until after the Nursing application deadline, despite sending them several weeks prior. After emailing them to check if it was my TEAS score or the lack of English/math placement that effected the decision, they responded saying they only look at TEAS scores and that ~100 students were accepted from ~400 applicants. Also said the TEAS scores were among the most competitive they've seen in recent years.
My TEAS was a bummer, I completely tanked my score by getting a 50% in Conventions of Standard English, the grammar section. I absolutely despise grammar; I always ignored it for the sake of liberating my writing and rarely see the rules followed precisely (possibly thanks to social media, but I read several academic articles every week). However, I didn't study beyond a few practice questions just before the exam, so I shouldn't be all that bummed.
Hard reality is that I should retake the TEAS, but there's a chance that next semester's TEAS scores will be lower, so I guess I'm here to solicit any input to sway my mind.
While it shouldn't be the case based on what the program claims, did anyone get admitted in Fall 24 with a score lower than 79?
Anyone plan on applying for Spring 25? If so with what TEAS score?
Also, despite all the college courses I've taken, it appears the school is not allowing me to transfer/substitute a vast majority of the pre-reqs/general education courses. Anyone else have a similar experience? I won't be using any financial aid unless they offer scholarships/grants, so if I have to take pretty much the entire program minus a couple classes, I would be better off finding another program at a much lower price.

I plan on applying for Spring 25 but now I'm scared to if the TEAS needed are much higher than 70. Where did you do your pre-reqs at? I'm worried I'll have the same issue.

I got in a few springs ago with a 77 on the TEAS. I'd assume Spring is a little easier because you aren't going against students graduating high school applying for fall. As for the Fall I'd say shoot for a 80 minimum. Even for Spring shoot for an 80 if if you can. I think with a 79 you'd have a good shot in the Spring/fall (just got unlucky with everyone scoring so high), and you can use it for a year I believe. Take it as many times as you can and select the highest grade. There's no limit

Hey, I also applied for fall 2024 with 78% but didn't get in. Did you retake the test? I'm applying with an 82.7% for Spring 2025.

I know a couple and they had no issue being admitted after failing out at another school.
