I am currently taking an psych dev. class with them through fingerlakes community college. I called the registrars office in advance to find out if I'd have any trouble later on trying to transfer the credits. They said that the classes taken through suny learning network shows up on the transcript as a regular class. There is no distinction that it is an online course. Just an FYI: I love the psych dev. class I'm taking, the class is excellent and the professor uses a method in which the students teach themselves (weird but interesting). I'm averaging an A, and I will definitely use them again to take more courses.

Wow cc123....U JUST MADE MY DAY..(eyes watering)

I too have taken 5 classes through SUNY Learning network. I took A & P I,II and micro, chem, ethics. One was through Canton and the rest through Cayuga Community College. I think a large number of the community colleges are SUNY affiliated anyway, so there is not problem transferring credits. Good Luck!

Wow skooter5....did u ever have to attend the college ever....EVERYTHING PAPER WORK IS ONLINE....cause I was a lil worried about the midterm n final?.....

Everything is online. No need to ever go to the college, unless you go there to buy your books. I went and bought the books the first time, after that I just ordered them from the bookstore (college) or Amazon.com.

Scooter5 - you mentioned all of the science classes that you took there online, how are the labs incorporated?

Scooter5 - are the labs done totally online? Please explain as I will consider doing Microbiology this way?

-Thanks,

CeeCee

I had to buy a "lab pack" and microscope (cheap). I did the 9 labs and kept up as directed by the teacher. As I did each lab I did the write up and took a picture with my camera. At the end of the semester I had to mail the lab reports in to the teacher. It was do-able.

i wanted to know if anyone knew primarily the hours of the day for the online class???? ill be starting in sep and ...i just realized that i have no idea what time it would be being that i get home from work at 530pm...

The BEST part!!!! The online classes are done at your convenience! You log on and do the work when you can. For example... in all the classes I took, say you had a test - it would be open for 48 hours and you logged in anytime during the 48 hours it was open and completed the test. It does not get better than this. I'd get up some days at 5 am and do a test before work. Some nights, I'd log on at 10 pm after everyone went to bed. Another bonus is : you get your grades instantly!

WoW...Thank You...i cant wait til the fall.....

can anyone explain how suny online works? do you pay for the courses individually? can i use financial aid to pay for the courses? is there a degree you can attempt just to get the pre-req's needed? i work funny hours and often have mandatory overtime. going to a campus for classes right now is not an option.
