SUNY Downstate info

Published

Hi,

I've read through this board several times searching for SUNY Downstate info, but much of what I've found is rather old. Could anyone offer more recent info on how many students they admit into their accelerated program each year as well as what they prefer for GPA?

Also, are all the clinicals in Brooklyn? Any other additional info would be fantastic and much appreciated!

Hi Lena, All the best to you. Enjoy the experience - I miss school to be honest. I have a B.A. in English literature. Math and science were never easy for me - if I can do it anyone can.

Hi JCazburgs - Don't worry - I'm a big baby and if I could do it you can. It's well worth it. I can't believe I'm working as a nurse! I imagined it for so long and now I'm doing it - yippee! :) all the best to you!

Hi KDRose - Yes, what you described is perfect. It doesn't have to be medical - include exactly what you wrote here in your application essay. This is very good even for your resume after you graduate. - you have a wide range and all of it is community minded and helping others less fortunate - giving to the community - you sound like a natural-born nurse :)

Thank you, Durable! You've made my day! I also have a BA in English. I'm so excited to become a nurse and am glad you're working as one. Sounds wonderful!!

One more question: Are all of the clinical sites in Brooklyn? Currently, I live in near Hoboken, but would love to move into Manhattan or possibly Brooklyn or Queens. I'd just like to have an idea of where to look. Thanks!
