Summer Student Nurse Position

Hello family!

I'm currently a second year nursing student located at Toronto looking for summer jobs. I have done some research and found some positions that I would like to share with you, also please provide me and other student nurses with other opportunities that you've done before, heard or know about. Location shouldn't matter, I would love to travel anywhere in Canada for working-hospital/nursing experience!

Here's some stuffs I've found

- Home | Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chathem-Kent is hiring

- Some hospitals outside GTA are hiring but positions haven't posted yet

- For BC & Alberta, there's a program called Employed Student Nurse Program (but I'm assuming it's just for the locals not for students from other provinces??)

- Workopolis - Nursing Student CNA is hiring in Ottawa

- You can always try to apply as PSW after completing two-year of nursing, usually they will hire nursing students

That's pretty much so far, please throw in more stuffs!

Hasn't been called that in Alberta in years. Last summer, many units didn't hire any.

There are more students and new grads than there are positions. Student positions are filled by locals, and every year there are less of these.

You might consider working as a health care aide or patient sitter for added care needs in a hospital.

what are they calling this program now? or they simply stopped this program?

Trillium in Mississauga runs a Clinical Nurse Extern program every year. The app usually goes up around March I think on their website. They hire for the summer but often extend into the school year.
