Summer Nurse Tech/Externships in Portland?

Hi all!

I am a student nurse in Louisiana. I am planning to move to Portland after I graduate in 1.5 yrs. I would like to live in Portland this summer and work as a nurse tech or extern or in any other capacity to get experience there and find out about the local hospitals.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

You could try the Portland VA. They have a Student Nurse Technician position which would orient you to the VA system and the floor. I would apply early b/c it takes 3-4 months for the application to process.

It can last for up to a year, but I've heard of people who have done it for 4 months.
