summer job help

Hey Everyone!

I'm here in southern Cali trying to figure out where I could work as a nursing assistant or other position over the summer after completing my second semester of nursing school. I would like to work at Los Robles, CHLA, or any of the surrounding Ventura County/LA county hospitals. Any suggestions or advice on where to start and what possitions I may be able to obtain? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Not sure if you are in a two year program or a four year program, but if you have completed at least the one year of the two year program, then you usually qualify for a nurse externship program. This is the best program out there for nursing students, it gives you the most hands-on experience that you can get as a student, usually you are assigned one on one with an RN. It also makes it easier for you to get hired when you finish your program.

Thanks for the response...I'm in semester 2 out of 4 semesters (2 year program for RN). Any idea how to go about finding these externship programs in my area (LA or Ventura county) and any idea of the hours or pay?
