How beneficial are internships during the summer between junior and senior year of nursing school? What type of internship programs should I look for?

Hi
It's basically a clinical you get paid for, except the nurses are more likely to be receptive of you since you'll be there for a longer duration in all rather than just a day, like in clinical. You usually get to rotate around different units to experience different patient types and thus, different skills required. In my experience, I got to do that and then choose where I wanted to be for the rest of the externship.
You should call hospitals during the early spring and ask them about opportunities for students and how/when to apply. I definitely recommend doing one.
