Summer Anatomy

Published

My college offers anatomy and physiology sep. I am taking anatomy now, not doing well and thinking of dropping it and retaking it during the summer. I am taking 2 other courses this semester along with anatomy. Any opinions?

You didn't mention how long the potential summer session course is, but if you do choose to take it, I would advise that it be the only course you enroll in and give it your full attention. I took my Anatomy course 4 nights/week, 4 hours/night, in six weeks.

If you feel you are not doing well in your current regular term course you may need to evaluate your reasons why: are you not spending enough time on the course material, do your other courses interfere, or is it the material itself that you find especially challenging. If it is the material itself, I'm not sure an accelerated summer session would be appropriate, but just know that it can be done!

Good luck! ;)

u have to prioritize first and reasses yourself before taking any actions

be careful not to overload yourself to early. a&p are considered "cornerstone" courses by most all rn programs. some schools will not admit you to their bsn program if you retake a&p for whatever reason. look at long term goals, your health, your sanity, your time frame for completion, your financial situation, and finally, do not take on too much. you will pay for it, and pay and pay. trust me. insomnia, nervous tremors, tachycardia, and more.

I was given the option to take Human A&P 2 this summer and turned it down. The class will only be in 2 months instead of 5 for a regular semester, and knowing my own limits and how easily stressed I can get, I've decided to take it in the fall instead, thus postponing entry into the nursing program until next fall. The person above it correct, A&P is the cornerstone for everything you do in the nursing program and I don't want to screw up this summer and fail when I can just wait until this fall and pass. I need time between exams to study for test. Accelerated classes in the summer would kill me what with test every week. Do what's best for you. :D
