I'm so sorry that you are grieving and hurtin. I, myself have been impacted by suicide. I'm not yet a nurse, but when I was 18 my 20 year old cousin took his life. There were NO warning signs whatsoever. In fact, for the first time in his life, things were going great. He was getting married, he finally had a job he was proud of and had found a nice house. It will forever be a mystery to all of us. I don't know what your situation is, but I can tell you this much from my experience, that when someone sets their mind to something, there can be no stopping them. Do your best to heal yourself as best as you can. There is no figuring out why someone would do this, and I promise, there is nothing you could have done.

Before the person makes the decision to commit suicide they aren't
locked into committing suicide, but once they have made the
decision to commit suicide there is no going back. They feel that
they must do this to maintain respect for themself. When something
like this kicks in, nothing will stop them. No other party is responsible
for what they do.
