Suggestions to prepare for 2nd semester?

I'm going into my second semester as well.

Yes, dosage calculations I will need to go over too! And I also got some of the module from the bookstore and that has some of the reading in it, so I have actually started reading already!!

I am also starting my 2nd semester in August, for the past few weeks I have been reading all of last semesters notes and plan to review all the clinical techniques from last semester as well (wound care, med admin, vitals, physical exam, etc.) I have heard that this semester builds on alot of those skills. And I also agree that dosage calculations need to be revisited; :specs: I feel rusty as well, but I was surprised at how easily everything came back as I read through my notes. :yeah:Maybe it did actually stick!! :rolleyes:

Hey you...I'm glad to see that you are moving onto second semester. I am also...Yahoo!! Mrs. Allen was telling us during the last clinical date that we are re-taking the final exam from last semester to see how much info we retained. And I met a third semester student Saturday and she said for her...second semester was the fun semester. Just keep on doing what we did the first semester and we should be ok. I've been going over our notes and such when I have the time and I plan on hitting the books again tomorrow just to get myself into the habit of studying again. It's only a month away...can't wait!!!

That is actually a really good idea (retaking the exam)! Did she say how early in the semester we would do this? I'm really looking forward to 2nd semester because of peds, but I am a little nervous about IV's! So much to learn...

Wonder how many of us passed first semester?

If I remember correctly...we will be re-taking that final within the first two weeks...don't quote me...there was a lot going on that night and I could be mistaken. I'm totally stoked about this semester...we got a taste of ob this past semester because we got to spend the day in L&D and watch a C-Section...seriously awesome experience. I'm a little nervous about IV's also but at the same time...excited!!

I only know of one student who didn't make it and she got to transfer to the LVN program and she said that she saw another ADN student at LVN orientation but she couldn't remember her name. I guess if you can't pass the ADN program...they let you go into the LVN program?

As of yesterday...there are still 8 people who have not registered for this upcoming semester...I guess we will find out the 25th.
