I am looking into LPN programs in or around Philadelphia or South Jersey.

I have found about 5. I was wondering if anyone had went to school here or have any info/advice. Thanks!

There is a school in Willow Grove, PA-which is just outside of the Mt. Airy section of Philly-that may be of interest to you. The name of the school is: Eastern Ctr. for Arts & Technology, and the website is: http://www.eastech.org. Once you get onto the site, just click on the Practical Nursing or Allied Health link.

Good luck in your quest to better yourself and advance your career!!

(please excuse any spelling/gramatical errors)

Please, don't bother with the 1199C training & Upgrading Fund program unless you are already in the union. This program has been in exsistence since the

1990's, yet STILL DOES NOT have the neccessary accreditations that are needed for a prospective student to obtain federal/state grant, scholarships, and loans; so if you are considering this school and need finanical assistance, you will need to take out a private loan.

Most people can't/won't do this, as this type of loan normally must begin repayment the month after the monies are dispersed; one of the reasons people go to school is to earn more money and rarely have the funds available to take out/repay a loan at that time. I know this because I looked into the program back in the '90's when it first opened (it opened when the School District of Phila closed the James Martin LPN program @ Swenson- the superintendent at the time stated that the district should not be providing educational/vocational opportunies to adult students who have already received either H. S. diplomas or GED's).

The person talking with prospective students omitted this when discussing payment options-she continuously stated that students would need a personal loan to pay for the program; she only spoke about the school's accreditation status when directly asked if it been obtained & how would not having it affect a potential student's ability to obtain financing thru traditional educational avenues.

Where was the thread moved to? I'd like to follow the responses, in case there is an LPN school in the Philly area that I don't already know about.

The thread was originally in the LPN Corner, and now it is in the Pennsylvania Nurses Forum. You have not missed out on any responses. :)
