suggestions for interning with a surgeon

Just received my RN license (reactivated after an 8 year absence) I am looking for a part time job but have been offered an internship with a surgeon that I know.

We have an appointment in a couple of weeks to go over some details..off the bat it was suggested that I can shadow his office RN and possibly shadow in the OR .

I am flexible about how many hours I can intern, obviously I would like to learn as much as possible..I can work registry on the weekends and intern three or four full days during the week..I was initially thinking a 12 week internship would be great. He will be providing me with an excellent recommendation to a couple of other surgeons for possible future employment (I'm relocating).

Are there any suggestions from what kind of parameters we should set about the internship? This is self-created with the surgeon, it is not a formal hospital internship or anything like that..but this will be my first experience so I'd like to cover bases
