Suggestions For Distance Courses?

I Am A 38 Year Old Mom Of Three, I Work Full Time, And Would Love To Get A Nursing Degree. The Problem Is, There Is No Way I Can Work Less. I Am A Medical Assistant For A Pediatrics Office, So I Have Some Medical Background. Are There Good Online Or Correspondence Programs Out There? I Would Appreciate Any Advice Or Suggestions From Anyone. Thanks A Lot!

Hi April, there are literally hundreds if not thousands of schools offering online courses. I went through nursing they way you seem to want to, a few classes at a time. (Back in those old days though there wasn't any internet.) And am now doing my BSN online.

I would first look to your local schools. There you can qualify for state residency tuition rates which are cheaper. Almost all schools are offering and adding more and more online versions of the on-campus classes. Here in my town St. Petersburg College has an every growing number of online courses, degrees. Many of which can be applied to a nursing degree.

If you are just starting out, there are plenty of online courses like history, sociology, Englishes, maths, physchology, etc. that you can go ahead and take on a part-time basis while you are in school. Check with the school that you would eventually like to go to nursing school at first and go from there.
