Suffolk Community College Fall 2015 applicants

Published

I did not see a thread for the fall 2015 semester at Suffolk. I guess the biggest news this year is the new requirement of the TEAS V test. There was no mention of it at the last nursing information meeting last spring, but luckily I caught the information early in the fall and had plenty of time to study. Unfortunately, it seems like many people in my AP2 class were not so lucky; one person just found out monday and now has two weeks to take the test.

I'm hoping we can share some info in this thread. When I went to the nursing information seminar in September, they said they that you had to score at least proficient on the test in order to be considered. My lab partner went to one last week and they told her that the TEAS score would now weigh more heavily than your GPA. For me this poses an interesting situation. My pre req grades are:

Eng- A

Psych- A

AP1-A

AP2- final on monday but should be an A

My score on the teas- 74% proficient.

I was always told through information seminars (I went to a ton...) that your GPA was most important. I worked hard and at the beginning of this semester was very excited that my GPA would make my chances of getting in very high...but if this info about the TEAS taking presidence over your GPA, all that hard work may have been for nothing. But I think we all know how notorious this school can be with misinformation.

What have you heard?

Congratulation to all! I just received my acceptance letter for Ammerman day program. So excited! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Waiting to hear, but @DivaliciousMe85 has me hopeful.

Psych - A, English - B, A&PI - B+, A&PII - B+

Anticipating an A in Microbiology. 93% on TEAS. Good luck to everyone!

Applied to Ammerman Evening

Accepted to my first choice, Ammerman Evening today. Congrats to everyone!

for those who already got accepted, did you figure out your schedule? are you guys taking Dosage in the summer or fall?

@gaby Dosage is recommended but it's not really friendly for evening students. I'm going to talk to someone about an alternative. Unless anyone else has a suggestion.

Oh I see, the times are not good for evening students :/ I know it is not mandatory, I was just wondering what other people will do. I might take in the fall, just hoping it is not too much to take with other classes.

Got my acceptance to Ammerman day..can't wait to start this journey

Got my acceptance letter to Ammerman day program. Can't wait to start this journey

I got my acceptance letter yesterday! Anyone hear back yet??

who got accepted to Ammerman day?

Question for those who have paid their deposit: has your major changed to nursing on the sccc website like the letter said? Was anyone told when we can register?

Yep mine changed a few hours after paying the deposit. Priority registration is next month ( can't remember the exact date) so we should be able to register by the ending of April, May
