I'm not sure if I can say the year went by fast. There were times, especially last few months that I just had to take one day at a time.
I was getting overwhelmed by deadlines, clinicals, and readings, as well as projects and papers. I had to stop myself from looking past the week, and mostly just concentrating on each day. It was the best way I could cope. I'm a good student and consider myself pretty bright, but first year was a challenge at times!
Best advice for starting out....keep organized, and fill your calendar with all due dates, and personal items, too. :) When times seem tough, just take one day at a time.

i just completed my first year of nursing school (2 year rn program), and i am now seeking a summer job in the healthcare field for additional experience. i am awaiting my cna certificate in the mail.
i'm excited! and thrilled! and suddenly feel like i have too much time on my hands....
looking for some nursing movies to enjoy and relax to. i did recently see a robin williams film, awakenings, in which there was a nurse that was terrific, and the rest of the staff joined in when the "hope" was shared.
anyway, i congratulate those of you who have recently graduated from nursing school:yeah:, and i share the joy with those of you who, like me, just finished your first year of nursing school!!!
take care!!!
