Substainated abuse claim is bs, what now??

Published

I work as a RN in the state of CT and was recently terminated for a substantiated abuse claim. Which is simply untrue. As far as I know 2 people wrote statements against me and multiple in my favor. But they still believed it. They were only looking to proof me guilty not disprove the allegation. Which wasnt made by the resident but by hateful coworkers who misunderstood the situation  what do I do now?? #help #falseallegations

1. Contact your malpractice carrier immediately to request lawyer referral.

2.  No malpractice policy, check out The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA) to see if one is available in your area.

3. While memory of events is fresh, write down your view of events to guide lawyer in event BON report or lawsuit re abuse allegation. Board of nursing may take months/years to contact you so expect a delay.

4. Do not post any further info regarding case online or discuss with friends as discoverable.

5. Try to obtain another position immediately after you have prepared a speech to address leaving last employer.

Best wishes moving forward.
