Hello, my name is Bruce.
I am currently going to school to become a RN. For one of my prerequisite classes I must interview someone who is in a nursing program. I must also interveiw someone who is already in the field of nursing working. So I would to ask some questions for my class.
For someone already in the field please give me your name and answer a couple questions.
Why did you get into the nursing field?
What in the nursing field has given you the most value in being a nurse?
What parts of the nursing field have you worked in and which ones did you like?
For someone studying to be a nurse please give me your name and answer a couple questions.
Is becomeing a nurse hard? What do you find to be most difficult?
What kind of support do you have in worked torwards becoming a nurse?
What do you plan on doing with your nurseing degree and how far do you want to go?
Thank you for helping with my class. If you have any questions just let me know.

Welcome to AN! The largest online nursing community!
Nursing is all about leaving your comfort zone.....the interview process is an important nursing skill that must be done face to face. There is a ton of information that can be obtained during an assessment interview....you need to be able to establish trust and obtain intimate details of someones life in a short period of time....this only comes with experience.
I am sure your instructors wish you to go outside the box and interview a complete stranger in person. Try your PCP"s office, go to a local High School and make an appointment with the Nurse, go to your local CVS minute clinic or local urgent care or Public Heath Department as well will have nurses to talk to.......call your local hospital and nursing services...see if theywill help you set up interviews.
Good Luck in school.

Is becomeing a nurse hard? What do you find to be most difficult? Yes, it is hard. It's a huge transition from being just a person to being a medical professional. I find learning to "think" like a nurse is the most difficult, but once you get it, it becomes easy to you.
What kind of support do you have in worked torwards becoming a nurse? Family and occassional leisure-time.
What do you plan on doing with your nurseing degree and how far do you want to go? I want to go past my nursing degree, have not decided whether just a BSN or to become a specialized nurse (like a PICC line nurse). I plan to work in a hospital or dialysis clinic.
