I am due to have my first baby in a month! However, I would also like to continue on my path to becoming a CRNA. I have all my requirements accounted for as well as a husband who wants to be Mr Mom while I am in school. I am just worried about timing of it all and when to apply. Any advice out there from other mothers who have gone to school after starting a family???

I have a 3 year old and am in school. Make sure yur finaces ae in order because you won't be able to work and school is expensive.

I like you am interested in becoming a CRNA. I have been accepted to start in the fall and I have two small children they will be 1 and 3 when I start. I have talked to a lot of people. I don't think it would be easy starting school with a baby, but to be perfectly honest I don't really know if it gets any easier in the next couple of years. Its a lot harder when my older child says "why do you have to go to work?" then it is to leave my baby. I think the hardest part is the emotional aspect, if you think that you can be away from them for the time required in school.

When I started school my three girls were 10 and 4 (twins). They are now 13 and 7. I felt like I missed out on a big portion of their life. I was an absentee dad for the most part. My wife was stellar thru it all. She provided for the family and took care of the girls as a sole parent to help me concentrate on my studies. We also had the grandparents available to help out. To be honest I think it is more stressful on you as a parent than it is on the kids. They are resilient and mine do not seem phased at all. They are happy to have their dad back though so we can do more things as a family. Just my two cents.
