Not sure if this is the right space, but I have just under a month to study for the AACN. I was wondering what people recommended. I have heard good things about Liek, Barkley, and Fitzgerald but I can't decide which to take. I would be doing it online, not in-class. Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I did Fitzgerald and APEA online. Fitzgerald goes into depth. APEA is more like a review course overview for someone who has a good foundation but needs to go over everything before the exam. Either way, I absolutely recommend Liek's book to supplement any course.

Almost every NP I know has advised me that if I did Fitzgerald's course, I'd be fine. I also know someone who did not have the money to do a course, she used Fitzgerald and Liek's books, and she passed without any issue.

To give my opinion in your situation, I would do APEA since you only have a month. You can review with your own materials if you find you need more in-depth study on a topic. With Fitzgerald, it's a commitment, and there's no way around it, you've got to listen to her to get to the content you need.

Good luck!

does Liek do a book for acute care? I'm only seeing fnp and gero...
