Nursing Students NP Students

Hi, I am about 9 months into the 2.5 year FNP program at Indiana Wesleyan and I feel like I am repeating high school and undergrad. In the last nine months we have covered the three branches of government and their duties (high school civics), how to use APA citations (undergrad) and I am now in a six week class on how to write a literature review (undergrad). I should not have to repeat high school and bachelor level work in grad school. I have learned nothing new, and nothing I will use in actual nursing practice. We only get 8 weeks for advanced pharmacology! Six weeks on how to write a lit review and 8 for pharmacology?! Give me something that I will actually use! Advanced wound care, 16 weeks of pharm, extra path but stop wasting my time on junk like how to write an op-ed. Seriously?! Are these things actually going to be on boards? You know, if I am ever in the ICU, the first thing I want to know about the nurse is can she use APA citation correctly? We only get 4 weeks on physical assessment.

I ended up here because my NP recommended the program and I like her. Are all FNP programs like this?

Rant over.

Honey by the time you get thru the program you'll be ranting again about how terrible the entire program was lol.
