Hello everyone! I am a current SN. I am actually debating b/w becoming a NP or a CRNA. I am going into either direction (as soon as iget more experience and info), b/c I am interested in the responsibilites and aspects that both field covers. I am not attracted by the amount of $$$ each pays. Just thinking about performing a successful intubation while thinking about how much money I'll make after the shift makes me sick. I just wanted to know what i can do to improve my science GPA, I'm not ashamed to say that I got all C's on my science courses. This was because I worked two jobs to help my father who was a single parent and help care for my grandmother and younger siblings. I have learned to mange my time well-- which helped earn better grades and earn a decent income. I wonder what I can do to improve my science GPA. I know 2.0 is way too low.
Just a CRNA

You have a couple of options. One would be to re-take some of the courses, as many universities and colleges will replace an older grade with a newer one if you take the exact same course again. (Notice I did not say they will replace a lower grade with a higher grade. If you make a lower grade the second time, you're stuck with it.) Another option would be to take some different science classes and obtain a minor in an applied science such as Biology or Chemistry, with your major in Nursing. Finally, you can ignore it all and move on, but gain acceptance into graduate school after finishing your degree. If you can show capability and make good grades in science at the graduate level, that will show the admissions committee that you are maturing as a student. They may overlook the undergradate grades if you burn it up at the graduate level. Keep in mind that these courses may not count towards the graduate degree you are seeking as an NP or nurse anesthetist...just provide a showcase for your ability.
