Student Nurse Internship in Emergency

Hey everyone! I am starting a student nurse internship in the emergency. I am wondering if there are any nurses that have previously completed an internship in emergency and can tell me what to expect (or if you have trained SNI in the ER). What are some tasks that I would be allowed to do? Thanks!

I precepted many students in the ED. They did everything that I did (unless it required certification like US placed PIVs). You can expect to do it all, from cleaning patients up to assisting with intubations and doing chest compressions. Be prepared though...ED nurses are pretty no-nonsense so the hand-holding will be minimal. It will be terrifying at first but trust that your preceptor will not let you sink so just get in there and do stuff. You are going to have a blast.
