I really wanted to begin a thread about NVCC's Nursing Program due to begin in Fall 2013 (Applications are due May 2013). I am starting my pre-reqs in January, because I have been in school elsewhere. I know it will be tight to get them completed in time to apply, but I want to be considered in time for the Fall 2013 program.
For anyone who has applied and been accepted to NVCC's nursing program, or for anyone who plans to in May, will you tell me what your credentials were (GPA, TEAS score, any certifications etc)? As in, if you could describe the perfect nursing school application, what would it include?
I want to do this right! Any support/insight is great.
Also, what is our status on the possible facebook group?

I haven't received any news on the background check or drug testing yet. Though I've been applying to some scholarships that hopefully will help me cover cost for nursing school. As for the facebook group, I have some ideas:

If any of you guys have any better names that suit our promo, then please suggest.
I got mine too. You're right, it does look confusing! blood borne pathogen certificate? Where do we get that? I see the background/drug/immun tracker total $120 from the website provided, a little pricey but manageable.
I agree, and I could be wrong but I imagine most of those documents will be clarified at orientation. I am pretty sure that we need to just complete a background check and a drug test by the time orientation comes around. Other than that, everything has a due date of August 12th, which is why I am figuring we will have more information about the other documents then.
Because how else are we supposed to know what to do!? haha, and does anyone know the first thing about getting the insurance?
Also, I don't know why but I am so nervous about the background check! I think the page showing that it is "In Process" scared me.
You guys know by now that I am terrible at calming myself down.
Hello everyone..I have also been accepted (provisionally!) to the program and recently stumbled across this thread and it's great to see everyone here! Too bad I didn't discover this before when I was going crazy waiting for the results!lol..anyways..congratulations to all of us and hopefully we'll have a great experience together!
I submitted the request for the background investigation yesterday. I have had a background investigation done through this service three years ago and it only consists of validation of your social security number, your residential addresses for the past seven years, whether you have any criminal convictions in your county of residence, any sexual offender registrations, and the results of your urinalysis drug test. I did the urinalysis drug test this morning, which is already paid for as part of your fee so do not pay for it separately. The nursing program still has to provide us with more guidance, including the forms that have to be completed during the medical examination.
No problem! I haven't used facebook in a while, but by standard I think I'll have to add you to my friends group first, and then approve you to be on the group.

Did you all see the email saying the only task we have was to order the background check, drug test and immunizations tracker? Do you think it is an issue if I already begun those tasks?
I think my votes are for NOVA Nursing Class 2015, and NVCC's RN Nursing Class of 2015.
