Hi friends,
So a little background, I'm currently a student going for my BSN and of course I have been practicing assessments on family. On one of my family members I found what looked like poison ivy on their legs. When asked what it was they responded, "oh, no one knows." So as a good little nursing student I went through a symptom analysis. This skin "rash" has been off and on for about 5 years, going though remissions and exacerbation. The thing that's bothering me about this is that they have talked to their primary care physician and also two dermatologists about this. The dermatologists said it was ingrown hairs and threw topical cream at them and forgot about it. Since then this person has been struggling with it but is to tired of physicians just throwing prescriptions at them. they have tried multiple ways to fix it (topical creams and lotions) spending a lot of money on it, and trust me its obviously not ingrown hairs. (Just imagine poison ivy all over someone legs.) I was wondering if there were any other theories maybe experiences you've seen/had that could help. Thank you anything will help!
