Struggle with GPA

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi, dear, I am currently studying my prerequisites of nursing program.

My GPA is not competitive.:(My first language is not English.

I am planing to apply the Generic and accelerate of BSN of UCF next Jan.

My overall GPA is 3.4. Prerequisites is 3.6 and not take TEAS test.

Is there someone's GPA around mine accepted to UCF?

Should I think about applying private nursing school?

which one require high GPA, the concurrent or the generic program?

Thanks.

I'm not sure how it is for your area, but here in the southeast, we are told that a 3.5 will get you in SOMEWHERE. That being said, I was accepted to a BSN program with ~3.7 program GPA and ~3.6 (just shy of 3.6 IIRC) overall. In my experience, most programs look at program GPA. Yours is quite good!

Apply to UCF anyway.

Also, have you thought of looking into Valencia College? Seminole State College? They both offer associates degree in nursing, you could then pursue the RN-BSN bridge program at a later time.

Private nursing schools close to UCF are easier to get in, but they are accelerated and expensive (approx $700 per credit)... Keiser Univ, Herzing Univ, and Concorde Institute.

Thanks for your answer. Sometimes I really feel frustrate.Yes, you are right. Keiser's tuition for A-RN is more than $30,000. They charged by semester. Four semester will complete all courses. A
