Hi!
I was wondering what all of you do to calm your stress. I stress naturally about almost everything. Even tho I did great In my cna class, I doubted myself the entire time. I dont want to be so stressed out when I start my pre-reqs for my ADN program, I rather use that energy studying, but I cant help it! Any advice?

I have no idea as I stressed all the time. The good news is sometimes your so busy you don't have time to stress. I think this forum helps because I can see other people are dealing with the same situations I am. I also usually find a study group in each of my difficult classes which also acts as an in class support system of sorts.
I have also found that I really enjoy the stress leading up to a test in these situations. I know it sounds weird!!!! I love cramming, and meeting up at Denny's the night before a test with my study group. We would sit there and drink coffee until 2am quizzing each other with the homemade flash cards we all individually made. The next morning we all show up exhausted and ready. After the test we all compare notes and opinions about the test. I have found if I study slowly over a long period of time I do not do as well without the cramming and intense stress. I think thats why I want to work in the ER.

LOL-I said something to my Med. Terminology teacher about the divorce rate being high pertaining to the nursing program and she laughed and said, "Well, I don't know about that but I do know everyone starts smoking." LOL. I thought that was kinda funny-and terrifying.
Im also an army vet now army wife, so I pretty much do everything myself lol

I try to fight stress by running and lifting weights a couple times a week. For me personally it really helps to go the gym right after work or class and take out any built up tension throughout the day rather than not giving myself an outlet to release it. And it also gives your mind time to think about other things besides work and school. Plus being tired at night helps me sleep quite a bit better.
Just a thought.
