Starting a thread for those who applied to SBU's FNP program for Summer 2025!

May I ask where you're getting this information from? Is it from the admissions office or from this forum? I was told February that they will be sending out acceptances from someone in the admissions department.
I'm getting this information from this forum since people are saying they got an offer letter not from my own experience.. I'm on the same boat as you I was told February and that's what I'm waiting for since I haven't got an email since my interview. But all the interviews for FNP are definitely all completed and there are no more last couple were in December.

Hey, all this info is from Stonybrook. I interviewed on 11/13. On 12/19 I received an email from Stonybrook, I was offered a spot on the alternate list. Acceptance and alternate list letters went out 12/19 as per others who were accepted. The school conducted the interviews in November and December. I know they said February-as they told me that too, but like I said, 12/19 they communicated with several students. I spoke to the department chair about the alternate list, she said many get in but closer to April. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me because I accepted a seat at another program which started in January. All this was upsetting because Stony was my first choice. But I can't wait around for months hoping to get off a wait list.

This is true. The interviews took place mid-Nov to mid-December. The school stated those were the only dates for interviewing. There were spots for 100 students to interview. 20 time slots, 5 students per time slot.

I understand about the alternate list and interviews. That makes sense but you're saying that all the acceptances were sent out. Only two people in this thread stated they were accepted. So that was where my question came from, are you following another forum where others were accepted?

I'm not saying ALL acceptances were sent out. I'm just an applicant; I don't work there, so no clue on their exact moves. I do know others off the forum who were also accepted 12/19. Just making an educated guess that offers were sent out that day. Good luck to you. Hopefully they are still sending out acceptances. Just doesn't make sense to me as they already have a waitlist. Why would they make a waitlist if they were still sending out acceptances?

Ahh got it. In the past years, most people heard back late January early February. So I was trying to gauge how long to wait before I accept another offer. Hopefully I hear back soon, I don't want to lose my spot waiting.

Same! I check my email several times a day. I accepted seat at another school but still held hopes for Stony. Their timeline sucks 😕

One of my close friends got in last year off the alternate list. I think they accept people first, then if those people don't accept the offer, they offer the alternate list the spot. If the deposit is small at the other school maybe you can still switch when they accept you. Manifesting it for all of us waiting 😊
