Stony Brook University - Anyone apply to the PMHNP program?

I submitted my application a few weeks ago and the deadline is next week. I'm just looking for some info on how the application processed worked for anyone who applied in the past. Like how long after the deadline did you hear from SBU? What as the interview like? What kinds of questions were asked?

I haven't received the email. I applied for the Post-master's PMHNP certificate program.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and work experience? I know SBU is very competitive, but I may not be good enough for this school. 😓

That's a relief 😊 I'll give it until the end of next week and if I don't get an email by then I'll just accept my fate LOL

Mine was OK I guess. Felt very under qualified compared to the other candidate. 2 of them were already NP's, and I think the other 2 had masters and there I was with my BSN LOL. But I guess we'll see. How about you?

all candidates in my interview where about the same in experience, some people had only 4 years exp others had 7+, everybody worked in different fields but yet still utilized mental health.

 

Hope it went well, was nervous, sucks we have to wait until end of February for some answers. I wonder how many people they choose out of everyone who has interviewed.

I wonder if the advanced certificate and the masters program are considered different cohorts.

It seems like it is very competitive for Stony Brook and a lot of applicants.  I haven't yet to apply, but following to see how is everyone doing.  Do you have to have prevous Psych in hospital unit in order to get accepted?  I only had community home health Psych experience as case manager, and not sure if that would help with application if I decide to apply.  Has anyone applied to other program as well?  Thank you and Good luck to those who has applied!
